Your Learning Team
Oak Creek Academy blends the benefits of a brick and mortar classroom with the individualization and flexibility of an online education experience. Students enjoy one-on-one contact with faculty, higher education counseling, personalized assignment feedback, virtual clubs and school events, and—most importantly—our commitment to providing attention to the learning style of each and every student.
We appreciate that learning is cooperative undertaking; a strong scholastic performance hinges on a robust and flexible support system. Your learning team is not only a student and a teacher; it’s also built of parents, our experienced counselors, and passionate subject matter experts. Each family is part of the partnership, and strong communication forms the basis of a fruitful learning experience. Students come away from a collaborative approach to a quality curriculum self-assured and eager to learn.
Our Teachers
Oak Creek Academy teachers understand that learning is far more than the exchange of instruction and assignment. Passionate about education and collaborative learning, our carefully selected faculty’s approach to teaching begins with each student’s goals, gifts, needs, interests, and learning style.
Our extraordinary teachers are dedicated to providing both one-on-one emotional and academic support to their students’ quest in developing into confident, self-directed adults. Through regular consultation and individualized feedback, Oak Creek Academy’s faculty teaches the way a student learns best.
School Counselors
A vital member of the learning team, Oak Creek Academy counsellors support the personal, social, and learning development needs of each student. Individualized academic plans are appraised to ensure alignment with academic goals. The learning experience is enhanced through guided career discovery and personal resource direction.
Student Services
The Student Services Department provides each family with personal assistance and guidance throughout the onboarding process.
During Orientation, Student Services familiarizes families with our educational philosophy, answers questions, and provides thorough training for the Oak Creek Academy learning management system. Since students perform better when families are involved, they are encouraged to connect with Student Services in a variety of formats, including virtual office hours, email, and phone.
As the year progresses, Student Services proactively identifies and contacts students who are frustrated by time management or may not be progressing academically. Since Oak Creek Academy is focused on student success, the team offers guidance and support with scheduling assistance, assignment expansion, and facilitation of course extensions.
Parent’s Role
At Oak Creek Academy, parents are a vital part of the learning team by serving as their child’s academic coach. By reinforcing healthy structure and organization, they create continuity throughout the academic process. In addition, by working closely with our faculty, they strengthen their child’s relationship with their learning environment. Parents facilitate their child’s individual learning plan, advocating for their child’s development and providing a trusted companion as their student navigates scholastic exploration and advancement.
Simply through their reassuring presence, parents provide a necessary component to their child’s academic success. Constant communication with the rest of the learning team, indicating interest in your student’s work, and voicing encouragement as only you can all increase your child’s chances of achieving their learning goals. Other ways to interact as your child’s academic coach include seeking out enrichment materials, suggesting new ways to approach concepts, discovering reading material together, reviewing written assignments, and fostering planning techniques.
